A Guide on How to Work Your Network Marketing Business on the Internet.
By: Profitstation News and Offers
There are certainly a lot of gurus out there who can teach you what you must do in order to succeed at Network Marketing on the Internet. I have read some of their material and what many of them tell you is very general in nature. General is OK to start, but at some point you need to get into the details. That is what I will do for you in this article. Is it complete? No, space will not allow a complete work. Will it get you started? Will it teach you something? I believe so and personally invite you to consult with me on any point discussed below. You may already be involved in a Network Marketing business at the moment and are struggling to figure out the Internet and how to use it to run your business or you may be brand new and are contemplating launching a home based business on the Internet. Either way, this article may be useful to you.
Step one: understand that you must SELL in order to promote a Network Marketing company successfully. What is selling? Selling is the transference of belief in a particular product or service to another person well enough to motivate that person to purchase. In other words, you feel strongly about how well your product or service will help your prospect, so you passionately tell them about it in order to convince them to buy it.
You cannot sell if you are missing two critical ingredients. The first critical ingredient is PASSION. You must REALLY love those products or services in order to transfer that belief. Obviously if there IS no belief then there is nothing to transfer. If you have no passion, you will have not have enough sales to succeed. The second critical ingredient is the sales prospect. You must have a sales prospect that is interested in learning more about the product or service that you offer or you will never leave the starting gate.
Network or Multi-level marketing is a legally recognized method of product sales and distribution. If you are not focused on sales, how can you possibly make a success of selling and distributing products in this manner? You cannot. That is why understanding your role, as a sales person, is the FIRST step.
Step two: pick the right company. There are entire books written about that topic so I will not cover this topic in detail. I suggest that you acquire one of the excellent books available and read/study it carefully. I would recommend Network Marketing for Dummies by Zig Ziglar and John P. Hayes, Ph.D. That book is fun to read and a gold mine of good info.
Step three: once you have determined which company that you would like to represent, take the following steps.
1. Become a distributor. You may have to pay a small fee. That fee varies and could be anywhere from $0 to $49.95 typically. If the fee seems exorbitant then go back to step one. If you are forced into buying product or service before you can become a sales representative, then go back to step one. You can expect product samples to often be part of membership kit and fee, but avoid companies that force you to purchase products/services each month in order to qualify to make retail sales. This distributorship must simply allow you to purchase the products wholesale and sell them retail. That is all that you are trying to accomplish at this point. If you LOVE the product or service, however, I suggest that you DO purchase it. That only builds that critical ingredient called passion. MLM Gurus will tell you: Become a product of the product. Selling is EASY when you actually accomplish that important goal.
2. Study the products and services of the company that you have chosen. Know them literally like the back of your hand. If you do not understand the products/services that you are selling in a Network Marketing company then you cannot possibly succeed in selling them. That is another good reason to become a consumer of the product or service. Your personal testimonials make great sales copy.
3. Study the company’s self replicated website that they assigned to you. If they did not give you a website or if they actually charge their distributors to obtain one, shop around and represent another company. The cost of a self-replicated website to the company is so trivially low, that they should provide such a service for free; if they do not, find a different company. Once you have a website, answer the following questions about it:
a. Does it capture critical information from each visitor such as name, email address and phone number? It is critical that the first page attempts to capture valuable contact info BEFORE they are presented any solid information on the products, services or income opportunity. If the prospect does not wish to provide that information in order to take the first step---who cares? First of all, you will not ever know it (since they did not fill out the form) and you are better off by not having to deal with people who are not willing to provide you basic information about themselves. They are usually big time tire-kickers, so good riddance.
b. Does this website lead with the company products or services or does it lead with the opportunity? Ideally there should be information collected from BOTH types of interested visitors. If it does neither, then you will not need this page in the initial stages of building your business on the Internet.
4. Write 10 sales letters. These letters will be explaining the remarkable and unique benefits that your products or services can bring to your client. Now is the time to transfer that passion and strong belief to a piece of paper or email. You will need at least 10 of these letters. What is the purpose of the letters? To get your prospects to buy, plain and simple. If you do not have the skill or time to write your own sales letters, I can certainly help you. Look at our Publisher’s special offer above.
5. Acquire an auto-response system. You will need a system that sends your sales letters to your prospects automatically on a specified schedule. I use this system: http://hop.clickbank.net/?allprizes/rapidreply It offers both a free and paid version which is convenient.
6. Create a prospect capture form. You may not need a form if your company website has a capture form that sends YOU the information from that prospect’s inquiry. If they do this, then you can manually subscribe them to your sales letter series although this is not recommended and often violates the policies of your auto-response system provider. Make sure that you understand the rules of your particular provider before you choose to manually subscribe people. I suggest creating your own capture form similar to this one: http://www.profitstation.com/superb-Business.htm A form like this will subscribe your prospects to an auto-response series lasting over a month or longer. That is a lot of email to your prospective clients encouraging them to go to your website and buy.
7. Drive traffic to your capture page through every means at your disposal. This is a topic all by itself. You can get a quick idea on what I do to generate traffic to my websites. Just send a blank email to: mailto:traffic@profitstation.com
8. Work PERSONALLY with those individuals who pop out of your system as seriously interested in purchasing the products/services. Get them on the phone! Once they have purchased, re-contact them frequently. Find out if they were happy with the product/service. Ask them for a testimonial. Ask them for referrals. Happy customers will often do both for you.
9. Provide good customer service to those clients that you successfully close on both the opportunity and the products and services.
Although items 7-9 are listed LAST, that does not mean that they are the least important. In fact, it is quite the opposite. If no one sees your entry page, you will not get subscribers. If no one subscribes, you will sell nothing. If you do not provide superb support and customer service, you will not keep your customers. Those all important customers could easily end up as business builders. A strong retail base is an excellent foundation for a Network Marketing company.
Last Words
The Internet may be successfully used for PROSPECTING and then for selling products and services. Prospecting is in ALL CAPS because it is easier to do that then it is to sell on the Internet. There are lots of methods of prospecting; I have just laid out the steps to only one method that I use. Another major source of sales prospects for me can be reviewed here: http://www.prostepinc.com/proweb/?ProfitStation Meanwhile, once you get a prospect, you MUST follow up with more traditional means, like the telephone. The Internet cannot do ALL of the work for you. If you follow the steps above and then consult with me, you will have an excellent understanding of how this works and a distinct advantage over your competitors.
